Spotlight: BotBusters Celebrate DataDome Among Built In’s Best Places to Work

DataDome is among Built In’s 2023 Best Places to Work, ranked as top employers across the US based on pay, benefits, culture, & other offerings.

DataDome is proud to ring in the new year among Built In’s 2023 Best Places to Work! This honor recognizes top employers across the US based on a number of criteria, including compensation and benefits, flexible work opportunities, programs for DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and additional people-first cultural offerings … all of which are intrinsic to DataDome’s values and the environment we foster.

Alongside our mission to free the web of fraudulent traffic, cultivating a passionate and inclusive team is at the heart of what we do. To celebrate our Best Places to Work award, we chatted with some of our BotBusters about how we built a best place to work.

Meeting the Modern Professional

Built In’s Chief Marketing Officer, Sheridan Orr, says of this year’s Built In Best Places to Work winners, These exemplary companies understand their people are their most valuable asset, and they’ve stepped up to meet the modern professional’s new expectations, including the desire to work for companies that deliver purpose, growth and inclusion.”

As a DataDome Talent Acquisition Specialist, Amanda Maldonado knows firsthand the expectations of the modern professional, and that an employee’s relationship with their workplace starts during their application process. She joined the team in 2022 and was introduced to the company via Built In.

“I noticed a TA Specialist role open, and before applying, I, of course, wanted to look into DataDome. I loved seeing the banner photo of the company from their most recent off-site! I felt the team spirit in that photo,” Amanda explains. During the interview process, she was drawn to DataDome’s DE&I initiatives and expressed her excitement at being a key player in inclusively scaling the company.

Similarly, FP&A Manager Dan Drewes echoes Amanda’s sentiment toward our hiring process and the opportunities presented to him. Dan shares, “I was attracted by the job listing being so transparent. The hiring process was outlined with the number of interviews, the salary range, and the case study. After speaking to the recruiter, I knew I would be a good fit.”

Fostering a Best Place to Work Through DE&I and Positive Work-Life Balance

DataDome actively recognizes and respects BotBusters as multifaceted individuals—not just as employees. Once hired, teams are encouraged to take advantage of DataDome’s benefits, learning and development options, flexible work offerings, and participate in DE&I  initiatives.

For example, DataDome’s DE&I “pods” are open to everyone, and provide safe spaces to explore different passions and help shape the company’s culture. To date, there are seven active pods—Women’s Empowerment, Parenting, Accessibility, Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing, LGBTQIA, and Cultures & Ethnicities—that each meet on a regular basis.

Senior Communications Manager Maureen Shaw takes part in several pods, and is the leader of the Parenting Pod. She explains, “For me, DE&I isn’t just an initiative to put on paper to bolster our appearance; it’s something that is lived and breathed so that every employee has their voice heard.”

In addition to our pods, DataDome provides flexible work options to ensure a positive work-life balance for all BotBusters. Maureen, a single mother, really appreciates the flexibility. “Having a supportive team that recognizes and respects my role not just as an employee but as a single mother is unimaginably helpful. I never feel pulled between parenting obligations and work.”

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Trust is the foundation of any successful relationship, whether it’s between employer and employee, customer and vendor, or amongst teammates. It’s what fuels #teamspirit and #passion, two of DataDome’s core values, and drives us to deliver the best online fraud and bot protection solution on the market.

Senior Graphic Designer Andrew Carp underscores the trust factor, “My team has such effortless collaboration because everyone simply trusts each other. You know your coworkers will be there for you when you need them, and they can expect the same from you.”

When asked what one word he would use to describe DataDome’s culture, US Head of Sales Brendan Nuessle says, “Passionate.
