Sustainability Pod

The sustainability pod exists to raise awareness about environmental challenges and support initiatives that help DataDome and its employees limit their impact on the environment. The group meets once a quarter to discuss sustainable technology, responsible employee travel policies, and more.

Benjamin Alliguie

Vice President, Growth

I am very mindful of my carbon footprint, and it is important for me to work for a company that aligns with my values. That's why I started the sustainability pod, for these topics to be addressed internally and for us to have collective discussions on actions to take in order to limit our impact on the environment, both as a company and as employees.

What has the sustainability pod been up to?

DATADOME'S GREENHOUSE GAS ASSESSMENT

The sustainability pod partnered with Greenly, the world’s fastest growing carbon management platform, to administer DataDome’s greenhouse gas assessment. The assessment was divided into three scopes: direct emissions, indirect emissions, and third party emissions.

DataDome is proud to report our CO2 emissions fall well below Greenly’s global benchmark, as well as industry direct competitors.

TREELY CHALLENGE

Since 2022, DataDome has partnered with Treely to benefit the environment while encouraging BotBusters to stay active. For those who participate in a Treely challenge, each step they walk, run, or bike is converted to trees planted in Madagascar.

The collective exercise of our team resulted in 630 trees planted in 2022, and 932 trees planted in 2023!

EARTH DAY INTERACTIVE SESSION

BotBusters gathered to recognize Earth Day by sharing educational insights on how they promote sustainable living in their personal lives. In an interactive session, our team discussed the following topics:

  • Approach and experience reducing meat consumption.
  • Tips and insight into sustainable fashion.
  • Actions taken to reduce food waste.

Karim Heraud

Technical Product Manager

I joined this pod mostly because of the increasing contribution of digital companies to greenhouse gasses; it is becoming massive, and as a tech company we need to tackle this properly. I see many tech levers that can be activated, and opportunistic approaches that can contribute to lowering emissions. I joined the pod to spread these insights to the team and stakeholders. More generally, I am interested in low tech, efficiency, and new ways of doing things.
